Aakash 2 priced at $21 for Students

India’s World Cheapest Android tablet, Aakash’s successor is ready and called as Aakash-2. The tablet will be available to students for $21, This is cheaper than the Aakash which is priced at $35. Indian Ministry of Human Resources Development (HRD) subsidizing Akash-2 tablet to students around 20,000 Indian colleges and 416 universities. General public can buy Ubislate, retail version of Akash-2 tablet for Rs 3,499 and Rs 4,299.
Aakash-2 Specifications
Akash-2 has a better hardware compared to Akash, but available for lesser price.

- Ports: USB port, Head Phone jack, SD Memory Card Slot
- Display: 7-inch capacitive touch
- Data: Wi-Fi Only and Wi-Fi + SIM
- Processor: 800 MHz Cortex A8
- Storage: 4GB Internal Storage
- Battery: 3200 mAh
- OS: Android 2.3
DataWind is going to deliver over 100,000 tablets to IIT Bombay over the next six months. Aakash-2 features special apps for computer languages like C, C++, Python, Scilab and more.
