Amazon Kindle Fire tablet: $199, 7-inch, Wi-Fi only

Amazon finally unveiled its first tablet Kindle Fire. Its all new Fired up Kindle, powered by Android with a 7-inch multi touch display, Wi-Fi only ahs a price tag $199. Kindle Fire is available right now at Amazon store for pre-order and shipments starts on November 15th. Amazon did a good job on customizing Android UI to not feel it as just another Android tablet, You never notice that Kindle Fire is running on Android until it brought the buggy bag of Android. The 7-inch device is worth for the money you spent and as of now its the true alternative for iPad.

This little droid brother, Kindle Fire is having 1GHz TI OMAP dual-core CPU, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and a chassis that weighs 14.6 ounces. Kindle Fire is blind and deaf, it can not see you and hear you. Yes, Kindle Fire doesn’t have a camera and micro phone. No 3G connectivity.

Amazon introduced Amazon Silk, a new mobile browser for Kindle Fire, they call it a split browser, the browser subsystems present in Kindle Fire as well on AWS cloud computing platform. Its really interesting browser architecture. The split architecture is very useful to speed up the browsing experience.

Amazon focused much on services and features that the tablet offer rather than the hardware specs. Amazon is know for its cloud services and they blended all their cloud services to power up Kindle Fire, Yes, the real fuel is Amazon cloud. The tablet features apps for Amazon’s Android Appstore, Kindle store, Amazon MP3, and Prime Instant Video, Amazon Cloud Player, Amazon Cloud Drive, Kindle Cloud Reader, Streaming services. With the power of cloud services and at lo cost, Kindle Fire is a true competitor for iPad.
