Google’s first tablet Google Nexus 7 made by Asus may land in India by October, told by Asus spokesperson to TOI. Google Nexus 7 is a best tablet for the price and very useful as a content consumption device. Nexus 7 is heavily depends on Google Play store. Price of the tablet may be little more compare to US but most probably specifications remain same. Is it worth to wait for Nexus 7 availability? let’s see.

In India cheap tablets are available for the price around $100 to $120 made by local mobile OEM’s. Micromax launched its Funbook, Carbon SmartTab, HCL Me, and many Android tablets imported from China. The tablet market is not yet got traction in India. The main reasons are low quality tablets, high prices for good tablets.

Google Nexus 7 may change the situation, low priced high-end Nexus 7 will be a huge success. With Google Nexus brand, made by Asus, with good quality, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 1.2 MP front facing camera and 8GB or 16GB storage, good resolution and Android latest OS Jelly Bean really excite people to buy Nexus 7. Remember Google Nexus 7 features Stock Android OS (unmodified) from Google, most Android techie users prefer this as Google pushes the updated Android OS to its Nexus devices as soon as available.

But when comes to other features like expandable memory, 2G/3G/4G mobile data, Nexus 7 fails as it doesn’t have these features which are very important in Indian’s features list of a mobile device.

On the other hand, Google Play store is still a apps market place in India, no Music, no Videos, no Magazines and more. Google has to made available all these features in Play Store before launching Nexus 7 in India, this is the main reason why Amazon didn’t launched Kindle Fire in India. Without a full featured Play Store available in India, Nexus 7 is just like another tablet. We have to wait and see how people in India will receive Google Nexus 7.
