kindle-fire-hdAmazon announced the second generation Kindle Fire device line-up. This time Amazon brings more to the Kindle Fire than the original Kindle Fire launched last year. Original Kindle Fire did well in tablets segment in US, Kindle Fire is the best selling tablet after iPad, even though Kindle Fire is powered by Android, Its not an Android tablet, its Amazon Kindle Fire tablet. Amazon content and services will keep Kindle Fire tablets a unique place among the competition. So What Amazon brings this year to the party…

Amazon matched with the current gadgets demand this time, more polished, powerful and as usual low prices. Amazon brought HD display to Kindle Fire tablets. That means Amazon’s new Kindle Fire tablets are matched with iPad with tech specs and functionality and lesser price means double benefits for buyer. Amazon introduced 3 Kindle Fire HD tablets. Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch 4G LTE, Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch, Kindle Fire HD 7-inch.

Kindle Fire HD

The 7-inch Kindle Fire HD will be available for $199. This tablet is a direct competitor to Google Nexus 7 and the rumoured iPad mini. Kindle Fire HD has the advantage over the competition, iPad mini will be expensive than Kindle Fire HD, Even though Google Nexus 7 available at the same price point, Google Play is not as good as Amazon eco-system.

Kindle Fire HD features 1280 x 800 HD display, Dolby audio with dual stereo speakers, dual-band, dual-antenna for faster Wi-Fi, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with Imagination PowerVR 3D graphics core, 11 hours battery. The tablet is available in 16GB for $199 and 32GB for $249.

Kindle Fire HD 8.9

When the original Kindle Fire tablet launched last year its really not a better competitor to iPad, But Amazon just started the real game with Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch tablet. Kindle Fire HD 8.9 features 1920 x 1200 full HD display, Apple calls it as Retina Display, Dolby audio with dual stereo speakers, 1.5GHz dual-core processor with Imagination PowerVR 3D graphics core and a dual-band dual-antenna like in Kindle Fire HD.

The 16GB version is available for $299 and 32GB is available for $369. Kindle Fire HD 8.9 is almost equal to new iPad tech specs but available at half of the price. This is the selling point that speaks on behalf of Amazon.

Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE

Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE tablet features similar specifications as Kindle Fire HD 8.9, plus with the 4G LTE for mobile connectivity. This table is available in two variants. 32GB model is priced at $499 and 64GB at $599. The prices are much lesser than the Apple iPad. And for additional $50, you will get a 12-month data plan with 250MB per month and $10 credit for apps.

Amazon made it right this time, Kindle Fire HD is real competition to the iPad, Android is facing problems in tablet segment, it will still increase with Kindle Fire HD, remember even though Kindle Fire HD runs Android its not a Google tablet. Apart from Apple and Google, the Microsoft invested Barnes & Nobel is due, rumours stated that we will see a Windows 8 powered 7-inch tablet cum readers from them. Over all good choices for the consumer and its a win for consumer, but the sad thing is that consumer is getting closed in a eco-system based content and services.
