Samsung’s new Omnia W Windows Phone unveiled, launching end of October
The Omnia W comes with Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” version, a single-core 1.4 GHz processor, 3.7 inch AMOLED display, 512MB RAM, 8GB Flash Storage, 5 Mega Pixel rear camera, VGA front facing camera, with 10.9mm thickness weighing 115.3 grams. Other known upcoming Samsung Windows Phone’s are Samsung Focus S, Samsung Focus Flash. Samsung Omnia W is a mid-range smart phone and price will be competitive to the Android phones available in that range.
Samsung is one of the largest Google’s Android powered smartphone maker. After Google announced Motorola acquisition, Android phone makers including Samsung are looking more to another platforms, specially Windows Phone. For low end smart phones Samsung is using their own developed Bada OS.
