Microsoft announced Windows 8 released to manufacturing

As expected Microsoft announced Windows 8 development and testing is complete and started releasing Windows 8 final version to its hardware partners. Microsoft achieved this important milestone as scheduled. Microsoft is going to concentrate to make sure OEMs get ready with exiting new PC models and online availability of Windows 8 in time for general availability on October 26th as announced. Also Microsoft opens Windows Store for paid apps and company accounts that includes 54 new markets and 24 new app certification languages.

Microsoft also announced MSDN and TechNet members can download Windows 8 RTM from August 15th. We have already seen many new form factors of next generations PCs including Microsoft’s own Surface tablets. Starting from October 26th all new PCs and tablets will ship with Windows 8. You can upgrade to Windows 8 for $40 on your Windows XP, Vista and 7.
