altQR Code (Qucik Response bar code) was created by Denso-Wave, a Toyota subsidiary from Japan in 1994. QR Code is a most popular two-dimensional  bar codes. QR code is free to use without any license and its ISO standard too. The usage of QR Codes by general public is increased after the QR Code scanner apps in iPhone, BlackBerry and Android Phones. In two-dimensional bar codes we can store more information compared to normal vertical bar codes. More information is very useful for business. Recently Starbucks started mobile phone payment by scanning QR code printed on the Starbucks cup.

Here is an Infographic by JumpScan to illustrate who’s really using QR Codes.
